IMMF

IMMF: "Mission Statement

The IMMF was set up by journalists to assist colleagues in a region emerging from decades of war, poverty and isolation. Our foundation organises journalism training courses to support journalists from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam

IMMF Philosophy

The IMMF was founded in 1991 by British photojournalist Tim Page, who survived multiple wounds while covering the Vietnam War but lost a number of close colleagues in the conflict. The foundation was set up in memory of those killed on all sides while covering the wars in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia since 1945.

IMMF Journalism Training Courses

The IMMF has conducted 21 journalism training courses in Thailand since 1994 for working journalists from Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. Our emphasis is on reviewing basic journalism skills and promoting good journalism practice. The training courses include print, broadcast and photojournalism, and cover a wide range of issues relevant to this region eg. environment, agriculture, ethnic minorities, cultural change, social issues and business.
